GEL-LYTEⅢ OG × Shigeyuki Kunii

Another outstanding performance to brighten up the sports festival.

Ahead of the 35th anniversary of the birth of GEL-LYTE lll in 2025, a special project has been launched inviting Shigeyuki Kunii, who is the creative director of mita sneakers and has participated in a wide range of sneaker projects from global projects to domestic inline direction, as a design creator. GEL-LYTE lll is a lightweight running shoe released in 1990 that represents the ASICS sports style and features a "split tongue" structure that divides the shoe tongue into two large vertical parts to improve the fit.

This work, called "TRICO 2024", follows the specifications of the collaboration model "TRICO 2020" with "mita sneakers" released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the birth of GEL-LYTE lll, but is reconstructed with coloring inspired by the sports festival to be held in Paris, France this summer. It has a zipper on the tongue that can also be used as a slip-on, the outer sole has a graphic of "FAR EAST" representing Japan as seen from the world and Ueno as seen from the city center, and the side of the tongue has a woven label with the producer tag "Tokyo Kai". In addition, the glow-in-the-dark "GEL" is placed on the heel patch of the upper, making it a design point that allows you to directly touch the technology. This is a special make-up edition from Japan that is ready for the sports festival that is about to begin.
