MOUNTAIN RESEARCH x KEEN PYRENEES

MOUNTAIN RESEARCH, a collaboration between designer Setsumasa Kobayashi , who has been at the forefront of the Japanese outdoor fashion scene since its early days, is a specialist in combining old and modern, low-tech and high-tech styles, and continues to delve deeper into the world of mountain living. Introducing a collaboration model with KEEN, an outdoor footwear brand that defines the outdoors as "anywhere without a ceiling" and offers innovative hybrid footwear made using manufacturing methods that reduce the burden on the global environment .
This is their first collaboration and is based on KEEN's classic hiking shoe, the PYRENEES, with the image of mountaineering boots made by shoemakers that were part of MOUNTAIN RESEARCH's early lineup superimposed on it.

The suede upper, which is not available in the inline model, features a fork with the brand's message engraved on it, and is engraved on the heel . Furthermore, the footbed and lining are made of leather, rather than modern functional materials, in the style of traditional mountain shoes . This special design pays respect to our predecessors, who utilized the wisdom of leather, such as its moisture absorption and durability. This shoe pays homage to past products that can no longer be made due to changing times, while elevating it to a modern and functional form.
