This is the fifth installment of the Jordan numbering series, released in 1990. The design concept was inspired by the P-51, a fighter plane used during World War II, commonly known as the Mustang Fireplane, designed by Nike's famous designer Hatfield to incorporate Jordan's agility and agility into the shoes. Following the explosive success of the previous model, Jordan 4, Nike got serious about the release of Jordan 5, with Jordan fanatic Spike Lee taking charge of directing the commercial. The catchphrase "Is it the shoes?" became a big hit among young people and became a social phenomenon.

This model is a collaboration with A Ma Maniere, an Atlanta-based boutique founded by James Whitner. The design has a vintage feel, which is synonymous with A Ma Maniere. This shoe is packed with attention to detail, which is unique to collaboration items.
