Hita geta are made in Hita, Oita Prefecture, which has a thriving forestry industry.
The material used is Hita cedar, which has a beautiful grain, is light, has high strength, and is gentle to the touch. Until now, we had been using unglazed wood, but by discontinuing unglazed firing, we were able to maintain the texture of Hita cedar. The sole has been changed to Vibram to improve grip.
